Akdeniz Üniversitesi Hastanesi

992 yılında Akdeniz Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi'nden mezun oldu. Uzmanlık eğitimini 1993-2000 yılları arasında Akdeniz Üniversitesi Nöroşirurji Anabilim Dalı'nda tamamladı. 2000-2004 yılları arasında aynı klinik de uzman olarak çalıştı. 2004 yılında Yardımcı Doçent, 2006 yılında Doçent Doktor  olan Mahmut Akyüz  halen aynı klinikte çalışmalarına devam ediyor.

Dr. Mahmut Akyüz, 2001 yılı Türk Nöroşirurji Derneği Board sınavında birinci oldu. 2005 yılında Türk Nöroşirurji Derneği  Prof.Dr.Mahir Nevruz  Bilimsel  Araştırma, 2005 yılında Sinir Sistemi Cerrahisi Derneği  Bilimsel Araştırma, 2006 yılında Türk Nöroşirurji Derneği Prof.Dr.Mahir Nevruz  Bilimsel Araştırma  ödüllerini  kazandı. 2006 yılında Akdeniz Üniversitesi  Sağlık Bilimleri Alanında Teşvik ödüllüne layık görülmüştür.

Dr.Mahmut Akyüz' ün 31 adet SCI' e giren dergilerde makaleleri, 6 adet Türkçe dergilerde makaleleri, 2 adet kitap bölümü yazarlığı bulunmaktadır. Makaleleri Toplam 117 adet atıf almıştır. Dr. Mahmut Akyüz  evli ve  üç çocuk babası.
